The Flourish, Slate

The most theatrical shape in the collection, The Flourish features elaborate scroll cresting at both the top and foot, with a pair of curling side arms that give the whole frame the silhouette of something mid-gesture.

As with every Fandangle mirror, The Flourish begins life as an intricately cast frame before being entirely hand-covered in fabric. Each edition brings together a considered mix of modern and antique textiles, chosen for pattern and weight rather than convenience. Individual fabrics may be sourced again, but never assembled the same way twice. Each Flourish is a one-off in the fullest sense.

This Slate edition centres on a discontinued velvet with a depth of shade all its own, with grey, blue and lavender shifting through it depending on the light.

Around it sits a run of cottons woven in Italy, varying in weight and pattern, spanning both the floral and the geometric, and finished throughout with the faintest touch of metallic accent.
